Why is fitness important to you?

Fitness keeps me sane!  It is obviously important in terms of your physical health and wellbeing, but I find that the mental benefits of exercise really keep me motivated.  I feel more productive in all aspects of life when I stick to a consistent workout routine and I’ve come to realize that the saying is true, you really won’t ever regret a workout.

Why would you tell someone to try True40?

True40 workouts are diverse and fun!  I really enjoy doing different things each day and each instructor brings their own unique feel to their classes.  The positive and encouraging atmosphere is very motivating and makes me want to come back again and again!

What are you deathly afraid of?

BIRDS!  It’s a long story…

  If you were stuck on a desert island, what 3 things would you bring?

My husband, a water purifier, and a satellite phone.

 What is one item on your bucket list?

I want to take my husband to the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. It is magical!

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

My hair is so big because it's full of secrets.

Where are you from and where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL.

What brought you to Auburn/Birmingham and what do you do here outside of True40?

I went to Auburn and didn’t know exactly where I wanted to go after I graduated.  I ended up getting a job in and moving to Birmingham and am so happy I did!  I love my adopted hometown and, outside of my full-time job in the financial field, I love exploring Birmingham with my husband and friends.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

“Comparison is the thief of joy”

 How do you love your body and stay true to you?

I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment I get from a sweaty workout and like the way that making healthy food choices makes my body feel.  I also enjoy Mexican food and ice cream!  Working on balance and focusing on how I feel over my appearance are two things I am constantly working on.  I am slowly learning to stop comparing myself to others and remind myself often to focus on the blessing of having a healthy body.
