How do you love your body and stay true to you?
The way I love my body and stay true to me is by taking a holistic approach- spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. I am only able to do this through Christ and seeing myself the way He sees me. I try to love my body by eating well, exercising, and getting rest. I try to remind myself that God created me individually and specifically for a purpose. Having this mindset me allows me to push myself to be the best version of me in all aspects, while also giving myself grace through difficult stages in life.
Why would you tell someone to try True40?
True40 is one of the most dynamic and encouraging workouts I have ever done! True40 targets all muscle groups and provides an opportunity for you to customize your workout for what you need that day- be it a challenge or a modification. True40 is more than a workout, it’s a community of people all trying to be the best versions of themselves.
What are you deathly afraid of?
Getting stuck in an elevator-the older I get, the more claustrophobic I am becoming.
If you were stuck on a desert island, what 3 things would you bring?
My husband, my bible, La Criox 😊
What is one item on your bucket list?
I have quite a long bucket list… but at the top is traveling to Spain, Italy & Argentina.
What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
I was on the reality tv show, Trading Spaces :)
Where are you from and where did you grow up?
I was born in Montgomery, AL, but grew up here in in the Magic City 😊
What brought you to Auburn/Birmingham and what do you do here outside of True40?
My husband and I met in college at Troy University, and lived in Atlanta for a little while. We moved back to sweet home Alabama in 2016 for our jobs and have loved getting to see Birmingham revitalize and restore! I work full time for the Arthritis Foundation as the Community Engagement Director for Alabama.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Allowing “margins” in your life. I firmly believe when I allow space in my life, I am able to allow God to work in greater ways, and be intentional with the people I am surrounded by, and the things I am most passionate about.
Why is fitness important to you?
Working out is such a stress relief for me. I think eating healthy and exercising regularly are two of the best investments you can make in yourself.
